Public Data Office (PDO)will establish, maintain, and operate PM-WANI compliant Wi-Fi Hotspots and provide last-mile connectivity to deliver Broadband services to subscribers by procuring internet bandwidth from telecom service providers and/ or internet service providers.

The Public Data Office will offer the free public Wi-Fi network. There will be public data offices created all around the nation.

NO REGISTRATION AND NO FEE is required to become a PDO. They will connect their Wi Fi Access points with Internet through Licensed Service Providers only in that area. Then they can deliver broadband services to subscribers through WANI compliant Wi-Fi access points.

PDO will establish, maintain, and operate Wi-Fi Access Points and
provide last-mile connectivity to deliver Broadband services to subscribers. PDO need not pay any license fee or perform any kind of registration. The PDO needs to arrange access point, power source for powering up the access point and internet bandwidth from ISP/TSP’s such as BSNL, MTNL, RJio, Vodafone or Bharat Broadband Nigam Limited.
Any Cable Operator, Tea-Shop or Kirana Shop Owner who has a customer base and has space for installation of access point can become a PDO..
